Quality Report Coordinators (June): Valentin Gosu / Sunil Mayya

Round Table

Triage Calendar Sync Issue

  • Greg reported that the Necko triage calendar and Bugzilla assignments are currently out of sync.

  • Valentin suspects a BugBot issue and suggested contacting Sylvestre Ledru to investigate.

  • Team agreed to continue using the calendar as the source of truth for current triage assignments.

Contractor Opportunity

  • Greg discussed a potential contractor engagement through November (~5 months).

  • Possible project focus areas include web platform work and MASQUE performance optimization.

Test Monitoring Improvements

  • Valentin highlighted the Firefox test dashboard:

  • Dashboard provides better visibility into disabled and failing tests than Bugzilla.

  • Team encouraged to use it more proactively for maintenance work.

Authentication Retry Preference

  • Discussion around:

    • network.auth.use_redirect_for_retries
  • Previously limited due to NTLM concerns.

  • Valentin proposed broader enablement to gain additional field validation and uncover remaining issues.

Spurious Recovery Performance Results

  • Oskar presented experiment results showing major throughput improvements:

    • Roughly 15–25% throughput gains for impacted users.

    • Most visible in larger upload/download workloads.

  • Performance wins dashboard prepared.

  • Team plans:

    • Share results publicly.

    • Present findings during SecPrivNecko next week.

HTTP/3 and HTTPS RR Progress

  • Max reported:

    • Debugging HTTPS RR failures preventing HTTP/3 upgrades.

    • Significant Android improvements:

      • DoH users now achieving roughly double previous HTTP/3 utilization rates.
  • Additional DNS timing investigations ongoing.

WebTransport Planning

  • Team discussed landing strategy for WebTransport work.

  • Consensus:

    • Smaller independent patches.

    • Bottom-up landing order.

  • Randell will prepare a feature inventory covering:

    • Interop status.

    • MOQ requirements.

    • Remaining gaps.
